HB 185: Stronger Whistleblower Protections for Public Employees

Status: After passing the House, this bill died in the Senate with the end of the legislative session.

AFSCME members Dan Ball, Correctional Officer from EKCC, and Julia Johnson, Disability Adjudicator from Louisville, testified in support of this bill in the House State Government Committee on January 28th.

No increased health care costs for state workers and our families!

The final budget will cut $94 million out of the state employee health care plan. The Governor vetoed language in the budget that prescribed how these savings will be achieved- by increasing OUR share of the cost- and the decision now rests with the Personnel cabinet.
